Hey girls, I'm new to the forum. Have not purchase my bike yet but am seriously considering it. My IT guy in the office is a road bike freak. His non instigation is beginning to take hold on me. That's why I'm checking out PCC and this forum.

I've read some of the old post and there's repeated mention about the lack of female rider in this sport. Is this still the case?

Is there any particular ride that has more female participant? My worry is to spent the money on a bike and have to ride solo. Solo riding is not the prefer choice in M'sia for a female.

Are there a good size of female riders in road bike within PCC?

Hi the lack of female rider is still prevalent in both Mountain Bike and Road. I think there are more female roadies out there compared with Mountain Bikers. So I suggest you start there first. There are a few female riders in PCC so do join them at the weekly rides. Go to our website at pcc-cycling.freeservers.com for more information.

I've just completed the Tues night ride in TTDI yesterday. Well kind of completed, maybe only 1/2 completed. Kevin was kind enough to help me bypass the major climb. Phew... I'm super unfit.

I did see a few (about 2 to 3 female riders), but was too busy getting nervous to get to know them. Perhaps next time.

Dear newbies

we have a few women riders, both new & regulars.

We suggest u start off with our training rides on Thursday nite to
1. build up yr fitness,
2. teach u basic skills like drafting & signalling and road savy

We have weekday rides on tuesday & thursday nites:

heard abt you from Vong. He said u did well, considering u were riding a mtb. Keep it up, sooner than later, u will be overtaking the roadies.

im new to road cycling too, bought my road bike in march 09 (its not anything fancy but something to get me started with!) when i got bored of marathons.

i've been riding for couple of months in melbourne but stopped since i got back to msia! looking for a suitable group to do night riding or during weekends! would be great to know which ride would be best!
