Dear Folks,
"Kids with empty eyes and soaked to the skin. I didn’t know how cold it could be in the tropics if you are standing in the torrential downpour without an umbrella. We did not have to go far to see a little girl, no more than six or seven, standing on the pavement, shivering, and eyes downcast. Cars drove by without stopping. She stood there, empty begging cup in her hands, forlorn and with eyes that had lost all hope."
There are many beggar children in the streets of Bandung, some no more than three years old. These children are often in the city with their siblings and friends, homeless, begging to support their family in the rural areas. They have no more than the clothes they stand in.
In the rainy season, they beg in the rain, shivering. They then have to sleep in their wet clothes, as they have no change of dry clothes. We will never be able to stop these children begging, but the least we can do is give them umbrellas, clothes and some cash for food, so that they are warm, not hungry and loved for a day or two.
Sun Yoga is the people behind the project. They are a not-for-profit organization comprising of yoga teachers, practitioners and students who is dedicated to serving humanity through yoga.
PCC can do our parts too in supporting them and the project. I believe we can and need to support them in anyway we can. Its only umbrellas they are asking.
What PCC can do :
Give us your unwanted collection of umbrellas in your stores, I’m sure we have many – They need it more than you do!
If you have any children’s clothes, please let us have it.
You can send cash too, but it is up to you. No obligations on monetary.
Raise awareness of this project – please circulate to all your friends
Please come with us to Bandung – We need you. Read attachments.
Above is what is required from the project. I, on behalf of PCC believe we can do at least 1, 2 & 4.
So please let the news out and do your part. Go dig out all your premium gift umbrella you got from purchases and free gifts that you will never use and hand it over to those who really need it.
