Looking for a MTB for my youngest child 8 years old. Base on wheel size a 24" or 20 " MTB is just nice for him. Price around RM400 - RM600. Bike could go offroad and light.

Hi I am also looking for something like that for my son which is also 8 years old. Boon Foo has one 24 " Scott set up but too high end for me. I think he quoted 2K. I will try KSH or some other bikeplace and if I find anything I will let you know.
I think I would aim for 24" so he can grow with it. Took him out yesterday on his semi kiddie ride to Rover at FRIM. Surprisingly he completed the loop without much drama. I can only imagine how well he will do if he had a proper one.
I am also thinking perhaps to get PCC to organize kiddie rides say for 8-12 year olds perhaps once a month or something. Would you be interested ?

Good to hear that. Here is a pic of my 11 year son at FRIM riding his 26" 14" bike. We manage to complete 'The Dream trail' and 'Steriod Hill'. (he did not cycle up).

Finally got my son a Scott 24 inch is is happy with it and we have been out at FRIM Rover twice and he is picking up fast. Hopefully he can complete Rover without stopping soon. Here is a pic of him with his new bike

A bit steep for me. Trying for a china made frame, cheaper and can upgrade later. Currently have 3 bikes, waiting for bonus next year for upgrade.

I will be starting a PCC junior club soon. I am thinking of doing rides at FRIM on Saturday mornings as a start. Please join us if you can. I will post this ride on the weekly ride section as soon as I confirm it.
