i suggest you go to a bike shop and see the selection they have. then you can ask questions and see the product immediately. i think you can get an entry level road bike with an aluminium frame, shimano 105 groupset and light wheels for RM3000. go to Le Run (Bangsar) Bike Pro, KSH or Joo Ngan.

Cool hihi slowlegs....ok question is Question are u slowlegs short legs or slowlegs long legs Question ...cos if you are at least 5' 4.5" than i may be able to help . I have a bike all set up u cud borrow to ride and see if you like road riding on road bike. everything on the bike is new except the frame ...so give me a shout if you are interested.

or else you cud get in touch with a PCC guy or gal and they normally have a 'bike to try out' program for newbies... Rolling Eyes

Thanks for the offer, dreambiker. I'm about 5' 6". So that would just fit the bike. I will give you a shout when I am able to turn up at the next PCC ride?

I've actually been riding MTB. Have always been interested to check out the tribe of the shaven legs Smile

Based on research, the mags suggest Giant OCR3 or Trek 1000 for entry level. Went to Boon Foo and saw nice looking Scott Speedsters (Adrian, this is alu frame with 105 groupset). I've never seen a review for the Speedster. Anyone in the PCC riding one who can share any views on the bike?

Dreambiker, I was actually looking forward to tomorrow but now I'm coming down with something. Next time I try out your bike? (Or depending on my patience, I might just turn up with a new bike at the next ride Smile) Thanks!

Hi It is a good idea to go for a well maintained second hand and at that price I think you should be able to find something. Go to these bike shops and ask. There are many people upgrading their bikes all the time so chances are there could be some suitable ones for you.
