kayuh on,

hehe....for a start I'll get a bike that suits my budget. Once I get hooked with the sport and started to get serious with it I might invest in a good one. Smile

Laughing I dunno abt the 450 MTB. but you can always check it out here & then go check out with the various bike shop, compare the pricing. Sometime, a little patient help. Btw, are you a road person or an off road person ? Do you want a road racer or an MTB ? Smile

There are new helmets that cost > RM150/each.

Hey Sherrina,

2nd hand bike are perfectly ok, at least for me. Both my bikes, MTB & racer, are 2nd hand and I am very pleased with them. Won't upgrade until I got really good with riding.

If you have subscibed to pcc newsletter. There is an advertising list for 2nd hand bike & stuff at the end of the newsletter.

From my search, MTB is cheaper than racer. You can change off road tyres to road tyres and use it for road ride. That was what I did earlier. I got my racer because an irresistable racer deal came by. With my shallow knowledge, the different between MTB & racer is : MTB is heavier than racer.

So, go get a bike & jom kami kayuh basikal Very Happy I am looking for female newbies riders like me to have a group of common enthusiast and to ride the miles regularly.

I do know a few female friends who are riders but most of them already riding for sometime, so they are really strong. They are into competition & stuff. Generally, I was told guys are stronger riders than female. So, it will be hard to keep up with them and boring for them to wait for us.

I also have less than a handful of female friends who are newbies. But the more the merrier Wink coz then we can have a regular group & regular weekend route to ride or even to join some of the pcc rides. Laughing hopefully this is not wishfull thinking. Razz

I cant cycle for nuts and am probably extremely unfit, but I tried it once and would like to try it again lol. Having the same prob here, Im female and cant seem to find anyone whos as interested to go cycling.

Anyhoo, my sister owns a MTB, but im interested in road cycling. so I dont know how that works, maybe I could change the tyres like you did. but anyway, im very interested in joining the tues night rides, sounds like fun, and they keep saying its manageable.. though hilly so.. Shocked

but yea come on lets cycle together girls. i really wana give the tues night rides a shot.

Hi sehnsucht, do come for the Tuesday nite rides. We usually have a sweeper so that no one gets left behind and Uncle Mac has graciously done up some tulips (directions) for the bike route. Poeple usually group up based on their speed so you can always join a slower group. There are people on mountain bike who shows up as well. (it's easier to climb on a mountain bike)

what to do? it's the monsoon season. but chin up, there's always next week.

besides i think a lot of people were still recovering from powerman this past tuesday so there wouldn't have been a big turnout anyway.

let's hope it stay dry next week.
