Time Trialling for anyone?

Would anyone be interested in doing time trials? I think it would be great fun to get a load of cyclists together (all abilities) one Sunday morning and do a short time trial. In the UK (my ex-home country), 10-mile (16.1km) time trials are held all over the place every weekend.

Answer the poll before and we can see if enough people are interested. My idea is for something fun and simple. Start every 1 min with slowest people first, based on their own time estimate. Perhaps do a gentle group warm-up ride to Putrajaya (or meet there) then time trial around some quiet but well surfaced flat roads.

Will need 1 or 2 volunteers for timing.

I would suggest 15km, 30km ,60km time trials. This would be good for anyone training for triathlons or duathlons. We could get the way2ride and triathlon scene folks involved too.

What do you think?

Hi adrian

great idea! I think it's good riders outside PCC are taking an active interest in rides. If you need any help, let me know.

Cheers

If I am not mistaken, time trialing will be open to all riders, as with any PCC rides.

By time-trialing, you can discover your fitness level and set a benchmark to gauge your performance. Typically, the route should be a flattish road, with no or little traffic/ interruptions and preferably free of potholes and speedhumps. A loop should serve this purpose the best.

There is a 5km loop in Kota D'Sara, next to the Petronas station (the one with A&W). It's flat with minimal exposure to vehicular traffic. While it's not perfect, maybe we can try out there first until we find a better loop/ route.

Cheers
