For the M&D riders: PCC and TRAKS are doing a “Trail Maintenance Day” at Batu Dam!

There will be no regular PCC ride that Sunday, so come down for a few hours and help to tidy up the trail.

Calling all Batu Dam riders! Here's your chance to give a great trail some much needed maintenance. As anyone who's ridden there knows there are always about 20 things that need doing, any one of which will make it a better place to ride.
On the list are clearing deadfall, constructing some bridges and water crossings, adding some much needed erosion control and cutting back as much of the ferocious rotan as we can manage. We will concentrate our efforts on the loop through the hills as the lakeside trail is already well traveled and anything we do to it is probably a waste of time.

We plan to work from 8 until 12 so bring enough food and water to last you as long as you are able to stay. There will be lots of earthwork so changkuls will be the best tool for the job, also saws, parangs and clippers will be useful. (If you love to rake then by all means bring it along but to be honest I don't think it's a good use of our time on this
trail.) It's 3 kilometers from the parking area to the start of the worksite so I'd suggest you think of a way to carry your favorite tool on your bike. Work gloves are recommended as are shoes that give your feet some protection. And leech proof socks might not be a bad idea either, along with your favorite leech and mosquito repellent. After all, it is Batu Dam.
